Florence is the largest city in and the county seat of Florence County, South Carolina with the city population
of 30,248. This 1997 All-America City finalist, with its historic homes and medical center towers, came together
to form a cultural center for the northeastern portion of South Carolina.
The City of Florence Public Works and Utilities Department is working to expand the City’s parks system:
Florence Rail Trail system an urban bike and pedestrian path, 7 miles of hard natural trails, an asphalt trail
and a series of board walks. Florence Veterans Park taking shape with monuments and landscaping. The Stormwater I
mprovements Management project Project nature park area.
